KFC (Kids For Christ) is our foundation program, and is a great platform for learning the Gospel through stories, songs, skits and videos like Veggie Tales, making friends, singing, playing instruments and writing songs (we are currently writing our first praise song entitled You Gotta Be), learning sign language (we taught ourselves how to sign and sing John 3:16), planting and caring for native plants and flowers around Harris House and in the lower park, making natural bird feeders for the many birds that frequent the park, developing public speaking skills through sharing and skits that we write ourselves and many crafts that we make to share with our family and members of our church who have difficulty getting to church each Sunday.  We are also teaching the children to have a heart for those who are less fortunate than ourselves and use the money we raise at various events to fund different projects in our community.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Carol Lowe and her love and devotion to the children through her music ministry.  Along with the regular music we do, Carol works with the children and helps them learn songs that they share in church.  My heart still soars every time I think about the song that they did along with our adult choir at Easter time.  Their part was the most important part as they sang “Who is the King of Glory?” many times during an awesome anthem on Easter Sunday!

Jesus said “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14).  At Westminster, we make it our goal to allow them the opportunity to meet Him and encourage them to know Him as their Savior, Redeemer and Friend!  KFC meets on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 1-5 PM and alternating Friday nights from 6:30-9:30 PM.  The Saturday schedule is firm, but the Friday schedule floats between the first and last Friday of the month.  Please see the calendar for each month for clarity.
